Carmen DO begins with a simple idea, with a dream of strengthening ties with special, unique producers in different parts of Chile. Working side-by-side, we have created a different wine that uses manual production in its aim to transmit the history of a lifetime tied to the vineyard. And this lets us bring Chile’s valleys and its people to light.

This is a bright, golden-yellow wine with an austere nose and aromas of white flowers and citrus notes such as mandarin. The palate has tremendous texture accompanied by a sharp acidity. The wine has a cellaring potential that will reveal other layers of flavors and textures.

This vineyard was planted on soils of granitic origin in the Apalta (Colchagua) zone in 1958. Don Juan Quijada has worked his family’s vineyards for years and makes surprising wines.
The climate is strongly influenced by the Coastal range. Dry and warm climate, dry summers and rainy winters.
The soils of moderate depth with deep clay beneath an alteration of the granite bedrock make this sector of Apalta a bit unusual.
