CARMEN GOLD IS AWARDED 93 POINTS BY WINE ENTHUSIAST

30 de January de 2019

January, 2019.- Wine Enthusiast, one of the most influential wine publications worldwide, recently awarded 93 points to Gold Reserve 2013, Viña Carmen’s icon wine. Sourced from old vines planted in 1957 in the Alto Maipo valley, this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon is deep, elegant and balanced.

“Saturated aromas of jammy blackberry come with plenty of Maipo’s herbal essence”, reviews Michael Schachner, the South American editor for Wine Enthusiast. “A sappy, full-bodied palate is extracted in feel but doesn’t tip in the wrong direction. Luscious blackberry flavors land on the finish alongside flavors of chocolate and prune. Drink though 2021”, he adds.

Handpicked from the alluvial terraces in the Andes foothills, the grapes were carefully selected before crushing, individual berry selection being a key part in Carmen Gold Reserve’s quality control process. Cold macerated and fermented in stainless steel tanks, the wine was racked into brand new French oak barrels were, malolactic fermentation took place naturally in barrels. Aged in barrels for a period of 18 months, our Gold Reserve was bottled unfiltered to preserve its character and volume. After bottled the wine was further aged for another 12 months in our cellar prior to its market release.
