The publication also highlighted Carmen Delanz Alto Jahuel 2019 and Carmen Gran Reserva Carménère 2020 with 90 points.

October, 2022. The renowned North American magazine, Wine Enthusiast, delivered 93 points to Carmen Gold 2019, the icon wine from Carmen, Chile’s first winery, describing it as a rich and full-bodied wine, with silky tannins and a long finish.

“Hints of candied cherry, tomato leaf, and eucalyptus shape the nose of this well-balanced red. Bright plum and cherry flavors blend beautifully with vanilla notes added by a smart use of oak. This is a full-bodied and rich wine with silky tannins and a long finish”, commented the specialized journalist, Jesica Vargas.

It is a classic and elegant wine that reflects the essence of the Alto Maipo terroir, world renowned for giving rise to the best Cabernet Sauvignon in Chile, together with the seal of tradition and oenological heritage that Viña Carmen represents.

Additionally, the wines Carmen Delanz Alto Jahuel 2019 and Carmen Gran Reserva Carménère 2020 reached 90 points. Considering the first one, Vargas said: “This blend based on Cabernet Sauvignon opens with aromas of black olives and raspberries. A hint of mint adds complexity. Firm tannins and lively acidity, together with flavors of herbs, juicy plums and peppercorns, make this a very pleasant wine.”

Carmen Gran Reserva Carménère 2020 was described as “a wine with strawberry and raspberry aromas, followed by hints of pepper. On the mouth, it shows mineral texture and good acidity supporting red fruits, baking spices and herbaceous flavors. The finish is medium length.
