Distinguished participation of Viña Carmen at Premium Tasting São Paulo 2026

Winemaker Ana María Cumsille presented the high-end wine Carmen Delanz Cabernet Sauvignon 2023, a New World red that delivers a precise and contemporary interpretation of its Alto Maipo terroir, as part of this renowned blind tasting event that brought together 33 fine wines from South America.

On May 8, Viña Carmen took part in the 2026 edition of Premium Tasting São Paulo, held at the Sheraton WTC Hotel in São Paulo, Brazil, where sommeliers, importers, and specialized media gathered for a blind tasting of 33 labels from Chile, Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay.

In this context, the Chilean winery showcased its premium red Carmen Delanz Cabernet Sauvignon 2023, crafted by winemaker Ana María Cumsille. The wine reflects a contemporary interpretation of the Alto Jahuel terroir in the Maipo Valley, highlighting the winery’s enological focus on precision, identity, and sense of origin.

This release marks the sixth edition of the label, sourced from a vineyard located at the foothills of the Andes on the southern bank of the Maipo River, an area known for its diverse soils and geological conditions. “It is a vertical, tense and juicy wine, with fine tannins, great depth, and significant aging potential,” notes the winemaker.

Founded in 1850 by Christian Lanz in honor of his wife Carmen, Viña Carmen is one of Chile’s oldest wineries and a pioneer of viticulture on the continent. Throughout its more than 170-year history, it has remained at the forefront of the Chilean wine industry, driving innovation that has shaped its identity and consolidating its presence in key international wine events.
