In his latest report “Terroir, Tension and Drinkability”, the renowned North American wine critic, James Suckling, pointed out Carmen DO Florillón #6 as a “must buy”. This Semillón aged under a flower veil is part of the DO range, which seeks to enhance the connection with unique and special producers in different parts of Chile
Originating from a vineyard planted in 1958 on granitic soils in the Apalta Valley, this white wines was praised for its “exceptional and bold character highlighting a robust and concentrated profile on the palate with a refreshing salinity that awakens the senses and leaves a lingering taste that will make you salivate”.
The icon Carmen Gold 2022, also considered as a “must buy”, received 95 points, aptly describing Viña Carmen’s flagship Cabernet Sauvignon. “Very elegant, linear and long. Really refined with a lovely finesse and great aging potential”, highlighted Suckling about this wine from the Alto Jahuel alluvial terraces.
Additionally, Carmen Delanz Cabernet Sauvignon 2022 and Carmen Delanz Carménère 2022 were rated with 93 points and awarded for their versatility.
Carmen Brut Nature, the first and only sparkling wine made by the traditional method from Limarí, achieved 92 points, praised for its freshness and intensity on the palate, “with bright acidity and a crisp, fine bead.”
