Carmen Gold 2023, Carmen DO Matorral Chileno 2024 and Delanz Chardonnay 2025 were included among the best wines of the year, reinforcing the winery’s positioning across different categories and origins.
Viña Carmen achieved strong results in the 2026 report by renowned British critic and Master of Wine, Tim Atkin, produced alongside Amanda Barnes MW, with three of its wines included among the “Wines of the Year” and a series of high scores across its portfolio.
Among the main recognitions, Carmen Gold 2023 received 95 points and was selected among the best wines of the year. Sourced from Alto Jahuel, this Cabernet Sauvignon was highlighted for its firm structure, intense expression of black fruit and a profile marked by toasted and spicy notes, along with strong ageing potential.
Also scoring 95 points, Carmen DO Matorral Chileno 2024 was included among the “Wines of the Year”. Made from Carignan, Garnacha and País, it was praised for its vibrant, energetic character, with fresh red fruit expression, herbal notes and a juicy palate, where the use of whole bunches adds structure and complexity.
In the same category, Delanz Chardonnay 2025 also received 95 points, securing its place among the wines of the year. Sourced from the Limarí Valley, it was described as a wine of great complexity and tension, with marked minerality, notes of wet stone, salinity and citrus, along with a subtle influence from its flor ageing.
Alongside these recognitions, other wines from the winery also achieved outstanding scores in the report. Carmen DO Florillón #8, Carmen DO Quijada 2023, Carmen DO Loma Seca Cinsault 2024, Carmen Brut Nature 2022 and Carmen VIGNO 2024 all received 94 points, reflecting the consistency of the project across different lines and styles.
These results reflect an enological approach that combines diversity of origins, exploration of varieties and a focus on more defined and expressive styles, reinforcing Viña Carmen’s position within the Chilean wine scene.
