CARMEN PRESENTS “VINTAGES BLEND”, A WINE THAT RESCUES THE BEST VINATEGES OF MAIPO ALTO’S CABERNET SAUVIGNON

Santiago, February 2019. With almost 170 years of history, Carmen is known for constantly seeking new ways of doing things, so why not reinvent the classic blend? This is how Carmen Vintages Blend was born, an innovation that brings together in a single wine, the best vintages of Maipo Alto’s Cabernet Sauvignon of Carmen.

This exclusive limited edition blend, is the result of a careful selection that combines the best expressions of our latest harvests: 75% Cabernet Sauvignon 2016, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon 2015, 7,5% Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 and 7,5% Cabernet Sauvignon 2013.

The grapes of this Cabernet Sauvignon were hand harvested from the best alluvial terraces of Alto Maipo, at the Andes mountains foothills. The blend presents four different vintages, which were aged in French oak barrels for various periods, allowing great complexity.

“Our Vintages Blend has a Deep and intense ruby color. The nose presents aromas of blackcurrants, blackberries and licorice, with soft and elegant hints of cedar. The palate, rich and generous, is also fresh and vibrant. The wine has abundant fruit and firm tannins that bring structure and deepness”, comments Emily Faulconer, Head Winemaker of Carmen, who leads this enological project.
