Both wines from Viña Carmen received 95 points and were selected among Chile’s best by the renowned British wine critic.

Viña Carmen was recognized in the latest “Special Report Chile 2025” by British wine critic Tim Atkin MW, achieving outstanding results that reinforce its position as one of Chile’s most innovative and consistent wineries. Two of its wines, Carmen Gold 2022 and Carmen DO Florillón #7, were awarded 95 points and included in the prestigious selection of “Wines of the Year”, highlighting the best of the Chilean wine industry.

Atkin praised Viña Carmen’s flagship wine, Carmen Gold 2022, made in Alto Jahuel, describing it as “a wine that reflects the freshness of its 750-meter altitude origin, with elegant use of 40% new oak, notes of mint, fennel, and mocha, and a tangy, vibrant palate of bramble, plum, and blackcurrant.”

Meanwhile, Carmen DO Florillón #7, an unusual solera-style Semillón sourced from a vineyard planted in 1958, was crafted from a continuous reserve of wines from different vintages. Atkin described it as “a white wine halfway to a dry Sherry, with lovely flavors of salted almonds, Marmite, and sourdough bread, lots of zip and intensity, and amazing concentration for a wine with 11.5% alcohol.”
